GSMA Block List

This check identifies if a specific IMEI is listed on the global GSMA Block List. A status of “BLOCKLISTED” indicates the device has been reported as lost or stolen. A status of “CLEAN” means the device is not flagged on the GSMA Block List. Device Make, Model, Device Type, Serial, and LastBlocklistDate are also included. For Apple devices, ANumber, and IntendedCarrier will also be returned.

Why It Matters

Identifying whether a device is blocklisted and has been tagged as lost or stolen is critical to protecting your business from fraud, reducing risk in resale channels, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This data point can also reduce RMAs while increasing customer satisfaction.

When to Use

Use this check when processing any device where a lost or stolen device will be impactful to future use. Blocklisted devices are restricted for activation by carriers and organizations that partner with the GSMA, reducing their value and redeployment options in those markets.
