Australia Block List

This check identifies if a specific IMEI is listed on the Australian Block List. A status of “BLOCKLISTED” indicates the device has been reported as lost or stolen. A status of “CLEAN” means the device is not flagged on the Australian Block List. This database is managed by AMTA (Australia Mobile Telecom Association), in collaboration with Australian mobile carriers and mobile service providers. This check also identifies the device’s Serial Number.

Why It Matters

Identifying whether a device is blocklisted in Australia, and has been tagged as lost or stolen, is critical to protecting your business from fraud, reducing risk in resale channels, and ensuring regulatory compliance from devices going to or emanating from Australia. This data point can also reduce RMAs while increasing customer satisfaction.

When to Use

Use this check when processing any device where a lost or stolen device will be impactful to future use.  Australian blocklisted devices are restricted for activation from many carriers and organizations, reducing their value and reuse options.
