MDM
The MDM (Mobile Device Management) check will return the management status for any Apple Device, including MacBooks! IMEIs and Serial Numbers are supported. This check returns the MDM status displaying either “ON” or “OFF”. Devices with a status of “ON” must be unlocked in order to be reactivated.
Why It Matters
Understanding whether a device is MDM-locked is essential when assessing if it’s tied to an organization’s IT infrastructure. This check reveals whether Apple Device Enrollment (ADE) is active, which can restrict a device’s usability or resale value.
When to Use
By confirming the MDM status (ON/OFF), businesses can avoid purchasing devices that require additional resources and processing to unlock.
